Our Editor's Take

The Molly of Denali podcast is an audio adventure based on the animated TV series of the same name. It tells the story of a ten-year-old girl's life in rural Alaska. Molly Mabray is an Alaskan Native girl from the fictional village of Qyah. Joining her on her adventures are her mom Layla, her dad Walter, friends Tooey and Trini, and Suki, her dog. Suki likes to steal her food, but they are still very close.

Molly wants to welcome everyone to Qyah and share what living in Alaska is like on the podcast. It has a population of 94, not including moose, dogs, or caribou. She helps her parents run the Denali Trading Post, Qyah's general store, so she's always at the center of village life.

Each podcast episode lasts up to fifteen minutes and shares a new story about Molly and her life in Alaska. Season one reveals how Molly met Suki and involves an adventurous flight in her mom's bush plane. When snow falls on the town, sled dogs are the best help for an emergency rescue operation.

Season two of the podcast starts with another adventure. It's about a journey on a mystery train. It takes teamwork and a certain Detective Mabray to solve a mystery. Will Molly and her friend Trini find the missing jewels? They search for clues and stop in a secret ghost town along the way. What will they find? Will it help them solve the case?

The third season is all about the Arctic Wolf Junior Relay. The first podcast episode, "Let's Host a Race!" starts a few days before race day as training progresses. Dog sled racers, known as mushers, travel to Qyah from all over Alaska. Among the most prestigious mushers, Eugene Pike is an honored guest. What happens when Eugene goes missing? It's up to Molly to track him down and save the race.

Molly is passionate about life in Qyah and always finds herself at the center of a new adventure. The Molly of Denali podcast is fun for the whole family.
