Our Editor's Take

The Rachel Hollis Podcast spreads positive messages in a fun, relatable way. The show's host is author, mom, and motivational speaker Rachel Hollis. The writer had her breakthrough moment on social media in 2015. That's when she posted a photo of herself in a bikini, even though her looks didn't fit the unrealistic beauty standards of the popular media. Her ability to be so candid with her fans has been a Hollis trademark since then. She has also used her platform to champion women and further empower them.

The Rachel Hollis Podcast started in 2018 as The RISE Podcast with Rachel Hollis. That was back when Hollis, a one-time party planner, wanted to promote her first self-help book. She had written other books, including the Party Girl fiction series. But this book, Girl, Wash Your Face, instantly became a classic of the genre. Hollis is a gifted writer and storyteller. She talked in the book about life as a wife, mother, and career go-getter. Hollis wasn't afraid to embarrass herself with her anecdotes.

Since then, Hollis has written two other books. Girl, Stop Apologizing and Didn't See That Coming. Both continued her confessional tradition. Hollis also split from her husband Dave in 2020, something their fans did not see coming. The Rachel Hollis Podcast focuses on wellness and health, with Hollis talking about her own life. It also takes close looks at motivational topics, such as how to set goals.

Another prominent aspect of the show is the interview portion. Hollis will often sit down with leading figures from the business world and the media. Kevin O'Leary, Jay Shetty, and Trent Shelton are among the big names. These interviews feature insightful questions delivered in Hollis's trademark style. She is always warm but not afraid to ask tough questions that make the interview subject think.

The Rachel Hollis Podcast releases new episodes every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This podcast is a must-listen for those looking for a bit of self-help and self-love.
