Skateboarding has gone from being a subversive sport to one of the most mainstream in the world. The Nine Club With Chris Roberts is a podcast that helps connect skateboarding's past to its present. The show takes its title from a skateboarding expression. A “nine club” describes a unique or innovative skateboarding trick. The Nine Club With Chris Roberts debuted in 2016. This show offers some great insights for skaters. It also documents skateboarding history and culture. The podcast's host, Chris Roberts, has been a professional skateboarder for decades. During that time, he has managed to make friends with a variety of skateboarding legends. The show's cohosts are videographer Roger Bagley and pro skateboarder Kelly Hart. The trio does a great job at keeping things light and balancing one another out.

The best thing about The Nine Club With Chris Roberts is the variety of guests. Skateboarding royalty like Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, and Paul Rodriguez have all appeared. Each of these skaters offers insight into the sport that is insightful and hard-won. Chris Roberts is great at getting these guests to share exclusive stories.

Sometimes, the topics get serious. Jackass star Bam Margera made headlines when he talked about being sexually assaulted. And some of the guests are surprising choices. Hip-hop artist Lil Wayne spoke to the show about his passion for skateboarding. Other celebrity guests include Spike Jonze and Ben Harper.
